Egypt sets new rules for Umrah tourism
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism's amendments to the regulations governing the Umrah market require companies to notify the ministry in advance of promotional advertisements. The aim is to monitor the content of campaigns and advertisements to prevent misleading information and illegitimate entities. Additionally, the Chamber of Travel Agencies has introduced a new regulation to establish a committee responsible for monitoring violations and ensuring that advertisements provide clear information, such as the company's name, license number, program price, and details about travel and flights. These measures are part of the government's efforts to protect citizens from fake advertisements and to safeguard the Umrah market from illegal activities, especially with the rise of advertisements on social media platforms that exploit those wishing to perform Umrah.
