Dr Abu Safiya's son urges help
Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, the son of the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza Strip, has been arrested despite his role in rescuing the wounded during the war on Gaza. His family has called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene to save his deteriorating life under harsh detention conditions. The family affirmed that their father carried only a humanitarian message, and that his continued work was a medical and moral duty. They warned that his health could worsen if the relevant authorities do not take action. The family is calling on international organizations to reveal the circumstances of his detention and to ensure his safety, amid rights-based demands to protect doctors and healthcare workers in areas subjected to siege and destruction.
