UNIFIL Finds 4 Tons of Explosive Nitrate South Lebanon
On July 2, UNIFIL forces discovered 385 abandoned containers inside a building near the border town of Hula. These containers contained approximately 4,000 kilograms of explosive materials based on highly explosive ammonium nitrate. EOD teams safely neutralized the materials after a careful risk assessment, eliminating the threat of an explosion. The containers bore Hebrew inscriptions and are believed to have been used in demolition operations. The area remains within the security zone that Israel has announced its intention to maintain, despite a reduction in clashes with Hezbollah.
