Security issues amid heat warnings
The Public Security Directorate warned of the impact of the hot air mass affecting Jordan starting today, Thursday, reaching its peak on Saturday, and continuing until mid-next week. They called for adherence to protective guidelines to reduce the risks of heat strokes and heat exhaustion, including avoiding direct sun exposure, increasing fluid intake, wearing lightweight clothing, and using head coverings. They also emphasized the importance of not leaving children in vehicles during high temperatures and stopping the use of electrical devices beyond their capacity to prevent fires, as well as being cautious of flammable materials and dry grasses. The authorities confirmed that their teams are ready to respond to emergencies around the clock and urged people to call the emergency number (911) in urgent cases.
