Security concerns rise at Suez Canal
A drone attack targeted two gas ships inside the Egyptian Port of Damietta, raising fears of escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran and their potential impact on maritime security near the Suez Canal. The incident resulted in a fire onboard the two vessels, which was later brought under control, with ongoing investigations to identify the responsible party. This comes amid an ongoing cycle of military escalation between Iran, the U.S., and their allies, leading to rising oil prices and heightened dangers in the Red Sea region and the Strait of Hormuz.
