The Singaporean court fined a 19-year-old French youth 600 Singapore dollars after he licked a straw and returned it to the beverage dispenser, despite the act being of low risk and not causing any clear harm. The court confirmed that the young man had disrupted public order, with the possibility of imprisonment, but was convinced that the potential harm was unjustified. The young man's action led to the need to replace all 500 straws in the juice dispenser, as Singapore authorities enforce strict laws to regulate unhealthy behaviors and maintain public order.
