An Egyptian court has sentenced Egyptian broadcaster Hamza Al-Masir, a presenter at Quran Radio, to two years in prison on charges of issuing checks without sufficient funds in two separate cases. The incident dates back to the submission of complaints by one individual after Al-Masir presented two dishonored checks to their recipient. An investigation was conducted, and the case was referred to the court, which issued its ruling sentencing him to prison. Issuing checks without funds is considered a criminal offense under Egyptian law, carrying legal and civil consequences for the beneficiaries. Hamza Al-Masir has been working for years presenting religious programs and Quranic recitations, and he enjoys widespread popularity within Egypt and abroad.
