NYT details Trump missile attack
Reports indicate that an attempted missile attack on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s presidential plane, involving a surface-to-air missile, faced significant risks after U.S. intelligence revealed that Israel might have been behind the incident. Investigations showed that the aircraft had to take off from an airport unprotected against missile attacks, and that rescuing Trump was extremely complex, with a genuine threat from Iran confirmed. The reports also noted that Trump felt insulted and angry about the media coverage, and that he tried to justify changes in flight and security arrangements, while the investigation continues to determine final responsibilities.
