The Israeli Likud Party has chosen its candidates for the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for October, amidst a decline in opinion polls indicating a reduction in its current representation in Parliament, where it is expected to win between 22 and 25 seats compared to 32 now. The process took place after a turbulent tenure for Netanyahu, which included the Gaza war and the judicial reform crisis, with about 53% of approximately 140,000 party members participating in the vote. There was internal debate within the party over Netanyahu's decision to reserve around ten spots on the list, which sparked criticism, while others see the process as democratic and inclusive of candidates from various political spectrums. The composition of the list will impact Likud's performance in the upcoming elections.
