Amman City Airport has resumed its operational activities effectively, having transported approximately 200,000 passengers since the beginning of the year through 1,650 flights operated by 8 airlines. The airport, which connects the Kingdom to more than 15 regional and international destinations, is now focusing on expanding its route network and offering easier, more affordable options for travelers by reducing the departure tax from 40 to 10 Jordanian dinars and supporting low-cost airlines. Additionally, its infrastructure has been upgraded to accommodate aircraft such as Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The plan is to reach 2 million passengers in the second phase of expansion, enhancing Jordan’s position as a regional air transportation hub and supporting the tourism sector and the national economy.
