Government sets October 1 for census
The Council of Ministers has announced that October 1st will be the date for the launch of the 2026 Population and Housing Census in the Kingdom. The census aims to collect up-to-date, comprehensive data on the population and housing to support planning and policymaking in the sectors of education, health, housing, and transportation. It includes all citizens and residents. The process will begin with a three-day online self-enumeration phase, followed by a field operation carried out by approximately 12,000 employees and researchers to ensure that all households are included. The census system relies on modern technologies to enhance data accuracy and processing speed, with an emphasis on the confidentiality of information and the cooperation of citizens and residents in providing accurate data.
