The government has decided to conduct the national population and housing census in 2026, starting on October 1 and continuing until the end of the month. The census aims to provide up-to-date and accurate data on the population and housing, which will contribute to better planning and policy-making in areas such as health, education, housing, and transportation. The census will utilize modern technology, including a three-day online self-enumeration, followed by a field operation involving approximately 12,000 employees to ensure all households and dwellings are covered, while maintaining data confidentiality. The results will help identify national needs and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents.
