The article described that Nicolás Maduro, the ousted Venezuelan president, confirmed his resilience inside his prison in New York and published two photos of himself wearing a tracksuit and making the victory sign, with comments indicating that he has lost weight since his arrest. The images were taken after the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, and he sent a message of support to his supporters, assuring them that Venezuela will rise again. Despite charges of drug and weapons trafficking directed at him and his wife, he remains imprisoned in a facility where his communication is limited to phone calls with his family and lawyer. Maduro's statements come in the context of discussing his conditions and rejecting the charges, with a note that his trial is scheduled to begin in June 2027.
