A spontaneous gesture by a Jordanian content creator during the Damascus International Fair sparked widespread controversy after he asked the helicopter pilot who was transporting him: "Are you the driver?" These comments led to a wave of anger and criticism, with many viewing them as a reflection of showiness within the military institution and a disregard for the respect owed. Following the backlash, the influencer publicly apologized for his mistake, explaining that the word came out automatically and that he did not intend any offense, emphasizing his heartfelt solidarity with Syrians. He also mentioned that he often uses the expression "the helicopter driver" informally and clarified that it was simply an unintentional mistake, expressing hope that it would not damage the understanding and relations between the two peoples. Public opinion reactions were characterized by calls for a focus on selecting national figures who present a positive image of Jordan abroad.
