The Jordanian Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development has decided to establish a Board of Trustees for the University of Kingdom of Medical Sciences for a period of four years starting from August 30, 2026. The board will be chaired by former Prime Minister Samir Zaid Al-Rifai. It includes a diverse range of members, such as former ministers, academics, and representatives from the private sector. The primary goal is to support the development of the university and complete its academic infrastructure, in addition to preparing it to welcome its first batch of students in 2027. The university focuses on integrating medical education with clinical training and scientific research, in partnership with University College London (UCL), which is ranked among the top universities worldwide. The aim is to prepare a new generation of doctors equipped with the latest developments in healthcare. The university plans to admit 150 students in September 2027 and is currently working on completing academic programs, recruiting qualified staff, and fulfilling accreditation requirements.
