Hormuz ship traffic drops sharply
The protection of oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz has diminished, as Washington has reduced its air defense coverage to two windows per day amid increasing attacks in the region. The US Central Command confirmed that it continues its naval measures against Iran, with 99 ships redirected until September 11 to ensure adherence to navigation laws. On another note, officials from Iran, Iraq, and Gulf countries are expected to participate in a meeting in Oman to discuss regional developments and ensure maritime security, as the number of ships passing through the strait dropped to seven on Thursday from 11 the previous day.
