Last week, approximately 1,236 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, during which they performed Talmudic rituals, prayers, and "heroic prostrations" under the protection of Israeli police. The police imposed strict restrictions on Palestinian access, confiscated their IDs, and increased deportation campaigns in tandem with the approaching Jewish holidays. Palestinian calls to visit the mosque, reinforce protests, and stand firm continue to intensify in order to confront plans for Judaization. This comes amidst incitement by some groups to blow shofars and threats of broader invasions and violations inside the mosque during the Jewish New Year ("Rosh Hashanah").
