The Lebanese army managed to arrest Sulayman Hailal al-Assad in the Baalbek area, alongside Noah Zaiter's son, known as the "Drug Baron." He was caught inside Lebanon without legal documents and was in possession of weapons and ammunition, in addition to a quantity of hashish and military gear. It is worth noting that Sulayman Assad is linked to cases involving murder and drug trafficking. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2016 but was released after four years and went into hiding. This arrest comes as part of Lebanese authorities' ongoing crackdown on drug smuggling operations and the influence loyal to the Syrian regime, especially amid Syrian requests for his extradition and his connections to the Assad family.
