The results of the PISA international assessment showed that the reading skills of 15-year-old students in Jordan declined from 419 points in 2018 to 363 points in 2025, marking the lowest level in 20 years aside from the pandemic period. Although scores increased by 21 points between 2022 and 2025, they still remain the lowest in two decades, raising concerns about students' ability to acquire fundamental knowledge and skills. According to analysis by Deputy Huda Al-Atoum, she questioned how much the weak reading skills impact the overall level of general education in the country.
