The Jordanian Astronomical Society expects Jordan to witness a rare astronomical event tomorrow: the Venus planet will be occulted by the Moon for a duration of 1 hour and 24 minutes, occurring when the Moon and Venus are aligned in the sky. The occultation will begin at 12:47 PM and conclude at 12:49 PM, while Venus will reappear at 2:13 PM and become fully visible again at 2:15 PM. It will also be possible to observe the Moon and Venus close together after sunset with the naked eye, provided there is a clear western horizon. This event is scientifically significant because it allows for precise measurements that enhance the study of the lunar limb and planetary topography. The society emphasized the importance of caution during observation and warned against pointing telescopes toward the Sun to avoid damaging the eyes.
