Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi affirmed that his country will not surrender, accusing the United States of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, food supplies, and harming the livelihoods of Iranians. He emphasized that Iran will face external pressures and will not bow to terrorism, amid increasing tensions between Tehran and Washington, as well as rising risks of incidents in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. He also announced Iran’s readiness, along with Gulf countries, to hold a meeting in Oman to discuss maritime security and the safe movement of ships, although no final agreement has been reached. This comes amid growing concerns over potential military escalation and its impact on global energy supplies, especially given the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz for a significant portion of the world’s oil and gas trade.
