Alycia Zakini, the world champion in free diving, submerged into the waters of the Mediterranean wearing a suit carrying 117 dreams and a message of solidarity with the children of Gaza, while holding the Palestinian flag. The initiative was launched to reaffirm children’s right to life and safety, and to highlight their suffering, using sport as a humanitarian means beyond traditional athletic competition. Zakini’s dive reflects extraordinary self-control and aims to send a message of support and empathy for the children of Gaza.
