The Jordanian Armed Forces, represented by the Eastern Military Zone, thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics using guided balloons during the early hours of Sunday within their area of responsibility. Border guard units successfully detected and shot down the balloons inside Jordanian territory, and confiscated their drug payload in coordination with security agencies and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The forces emphasized their ongoing commitment to decisively confront smuggling and infiltration attempts across the borders, and to taking the necessary measures to prevent their success.
