The West Amman Court sentenced a Jordanian to four months in prison and a fine of 1,000 dinars. Additionally, he was fined an amount of 1,714.55 dinars for placing a magnet on the water meter without the approval of the Water Authority, which violates the law and damages public funds. The magnet was seized by Water Authority employees during their monitoring. The court confirmed that the legal evidence proves the violation, rejecting the defense’s testimonies indicating that the meter is located outside and easily accessible, and that the defendant is illiterate. The court also ordered the removal of the causes of the violation and the restoration of the situation to its original state within one week after the final judgment is issued.
