The article discusses the state of developing educational curricula in the country, emphasizing that directives have stressed the importance of shifting from rote memorization and teaching by repetition to a philosophy centered on critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving. Although this has been implemented through updates to textbooks, actual application on the ground remains limited, as students and teachers continue to focus on rote learning and memorization, neglecting listening exercises and laboratory experiments. The article also addresses the controversy surrounding religious influence in the curricula and its negative impact, noting that studies indicate an increase in extremist religious thought, which reflects a discrepancy between official policies and the reality. Ultimately, the article raises questions about the effectiveness of the current education system, especially considering that critics and proponents of critical thinking received their education in an era reliant on rote learning, casting doubt on their ability to objectively evaluate and develop the educational process.
