The article explains how a Jordanian man became a victim of a scam related to jinn and hidden gold in his home in Amman. His beliefs were exploited through the display of false witchcraft using rituals and materials such as candles, oil, and salt. Subsequently, he received offers from scammers to buy fake materials in exchange for amounts reaching up to $117,000. The story began in 2021 when one of the scammers claimed to have seen jinn and gold in the victim’s house, which led to his deception. He was persuaded to pay successive sums for supposed materials to display gold and unlock his deposits, including the presentation of forged documents for large sums and transferring money to foreign banks. Suspicion later arose, revealing that all the materials and documents were forged. The victim filed a complaint, and the court convicted one of the accused for six months in prison and a fine, while another was cleared of money laundering charges. The court confirmed that the methods used were fraudulent tactics that caused the victim to hand over his money without ever finding any gold or any proof of its existence.
