Germany prevents Hamas attack plot
German authorities have issued charges against seven individuals suspected of belonging to Hamas, in connection with plans to carry out attacks targeting Jewish communities and institutions in Germany and Austria. The suspects are accused of assisting in obtaining weapons, belonging to a foreign organization, and planning acts of violence that threaten national security, based on directives from Hamas officials. Multiple weapons were seized, including an assault rifle, 13 pistols, and more than 700 rounds of ammunition. The plans included carrying out attacks around October 7, 2025, coinciding with the anniversary of a previous attack. One of the suspects recorded a video in which he confesses to the plot. It is believed that the case indicates efforts to establish covert logistical networks within Germany. The suspects are in custody, and authorities have increased alert levels, reinforcing security measures around Jewish institutions and communities to prevent attacks.
