Investment Ministry unveils energy storage qualification
The Ministry of Investment is proposing a energy storage project in Al-Majeb using a public-private partnership system. The project aims to develop a pumped hydroelectric facility with a capacity of 450 megawatts, enabling energy storage for seven hours by utilizing excess solar power during the day and releasing it back to the grid during periods of high demand. The project contributes to enhancing the flexibility of the electrical system, increasing reliance on renewable energy, and reducing dependence on imported fuel, thereby strengthening Jordan’s energy security.
