Qa’war Memorial Register
The Jordanian Writers Association commemorated writer and parliamentarian Fakhri Qa’war at a ceremony at the Orthodox Club, honoring his career as president of the Association and the General Union of Arab Writers and Authors, as well as his satirical and outspoken writing. Qa’war was elected to parliament in 1989 and headed the Association during its 1991 and 1992 terms. His speeches in parliament were also known for their strength and boldness. The writer called for the creation of a “national record of remembrance” to document the efforts of those who have passed away and who contributed with integrity and dedication to building the country.
