United's 38-Year Slump
Manchester United lost 0–2 to Chelsea, extending their winless run to nine matches for the first time since 1988. They have drawn three and lost six—their longest such run in 38 years. Over those matches, the team scored six goals and conceded 18, failing to score on five occasions. United have collected just seven points from the first nine rounds of the league, with one win, four draws and four defeats. The results have increased the pressure on manager Michael Carrick, while the team remain close to the relegation places.
