The Eastern Military Zone thwarted an attempt early Thursday to smuggle a large quantity of drugs into Jordan using guided balloons, after detecting them as they tried to cross the border. Border Guard units brought down the balloons inside Jordanian territory and seized their cargo in coordination with the security and military agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized items were referred to the relevant authorities.
