Jordanian physician Muath al-Balawi earned a perfect score of 800 out of 800 on the American Board of Internal Medicine examination, outperforming more than 15,000 doctors who sat for the test. The achievement is rare: 2025 statistics showed that fewer than 0.23% of candidates scored between 750 and 800. Al-Balawi is currently completing a fellowship in hematology and oncology in the United States, after studying medicine at the University of Jordan and training and working in Jordan and the United States.
