Team cuts Israeli athlete
Israeli cyclist Rotem Gafinovitz said that British team HESS Cycling had informed her it was terminating her contract, despite it having another season to run, because she holds an Israeli passport, as her agent told her. She said she had refused to continue working with the team, and that the decision had prevented her from competing in the World Championships and made it harder for her to find a new team. She also needs around €200,000 to continue preparing to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics; otherwise, she will have to retire.
