Kim Jong Un commits to boosting Pyongyang's military
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced his intention to strengthen his country's military capabilities, especially regarding its nuclear forces, in response to South Korea and the United States' efforts to modernize and develop their military capabilities in the region. He reiterated that Pyongyang's stance remains firmly committed to accelerating its self-defense deterrence efforts, considering that the escalation of military drills and preparations in the area brings it closer to the brink of nuclear war. This comes as North Korea continues to rapidly develop its nuclear deterrence technology to counter the regional military escalation.
