Fourth "Your School's Security" Contest Launched
Omnia Company has launched the fourth edition of the "Omnia School" Plastic Collection Competition for the 2026/2027 academic year, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education and the General Authority for Environment, in collaboration with the private sector. The aim of the competition is to raise environmental awareness and gather data on students' performance in source segregation of waste, with the goal of promoting recycling behavior among the new generations in Kuwait. In the previous edition, 156 schools participated, collecting 264 tons of plastic over six weeks, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 660 tons, and saving 792 cubic meters of landfill space. The competition aspires to double these amounts in 2026. An accompanying exhibition will be held at The Avenues - Grand Plaza from September 17 to 30, aiming to attract the largest possible number of participants and to enhance awareness of waste sorting and recycling, in line with Kuwait’s 2035 Sustainability Strategy.
