Lebanon Gets Ready for Rome
Lebanese media outlets have focused on the second meeting between Lebanon and Israel, which is scheduled to take place in Rome between August 4 and 6, under American sponsorship. The Lebanese delegation will be led by former ambassador Simon Khoury. The discussions will center on accusations that Israel is obstructing the deployment of the Lebanese army in the first designated areas through its retaliations, as well as on the second phase concerning the occupied regions, which include areas completely under occupation. The inhabited regions between the Litani and the first areas, heavily controlled by Hezbollah, are considered the greatest challenge for the Lebanese army, especially since their infrastructure has not yet been destroyed and remains a strategic card in the face of Israeli occupation.
