Iran declines Oman Strait plan
Iran rejected Oman's proposal for a joint management of the Strait of Hormuz and instead relied on strengthening its air defenses through deals with China, including purchasing between 300 and 400 short-range air defense systems valued at around $60 to $70 million. It was also announced that Iran is preparing to receive the first batch of portable missile defense systems from China within weeks. In contrast, China denied the reports claiming it is supporting Iran with weapons, and Pakistan rejected allegations that it is transporting arms to Iran through its territory, possibly using secret land and air routes to supply Iran.
