Muqtada al-Sadr Condemns Militia Violence
The news addresses Iraq's stance in condemning the practices of Iran-backed militias, which continue to carry out attacks on Saudi Arabia from within Iraq. These actions are described as brazen and as pushing Iraq toward a futile war. The Gulf Cooperation Council also emphasized its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemned these assaults, with the Secretary-General expressing strong disapproval of the ongoing terrorist attacks by these militias. This comes in the context of an escalation in security tensions between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, with references to Gulf support and Saudi measures to safeguard its security, along with statements from Saudi Arabia justifying its military operations as a response to these attacks.
