Tom Barrak Reacts to Sweida Escalation
Tom Barrack, the American envoy to Syria, emphasizes the need for restraint and dialogue in the Sweida province following an escalation of violence. He points out that the solution lies in returning to the implementation of the trilateral roadmap, which aims to integrate the province with dignity and ensure the rights of the Druze community. He also denounces arbitrary arrests, particularly the detention of Atef Hanidi, and calls for continued cooperation among all Syrian parties to foster understanding and tolerance. He affirms that military options are not the solution and that the best course of action requires responsible dialogue to achieve security and facilitate the reconstruction of the devastated areas.
