US Declares End of Iraq Mission
The U.S. Department of Defense officially announced the end of the international coalition's mission in Iraq, indicating that the 12-year-long "Iron Will" operation resulted in the defeat of the ISIS organization as a military threat in the region. It confirmed that Iraqi forces, including the Peshmerga, will assume responsibility for securing the country and continuing efforts to contain the organization, with ongoing American support in training and intelligence, marking a transfer of security responsibility from the coalition to Iraqi authorities.
