Revolutionary Guard Calls US Troop Exit a Victory
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards welcomed the withdrawal of the US-led international coalition forces from Iraq, describing it as a "historic victory." This came after the coalition's 12-year mission, which contributed to defeating the Islamic State organization in Iraq and Syria. However, the statement emphasized that the presence of foreign forces has failed to bring security and has increased instability in the region. The statement called for the United States to leave the Middle East, considering that ending the coalition's mission removes the pretext for Iranian-backed armed factions and leads to an improvement in security conditions in Iraq.
