Netanyahu: Dubai flight assistant received extremist indoctrination
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that investigations are still ongoing regarding the incident involving the Fly Dubai aircraft traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. He stated that the co-pilot was subjected to indoctrination with extremist ideology and is believed to have been suicidal. He also indicated that there are indications Iran and its proxies are attempting to carry out attacks against Israel during the election season. Additionally, there is a vulnerability in pilot screening procedures that Israel is working to address in cooperation with the UAE. The UAE announced that it is investigating the details of the incident, including a cockpit altercation that led to the diversion of the flight and the aircraft’s landing in Tabuk. They emphasized that investigations are ongoing to determine whether the incident is linked to Iran.
