Explosions hit Addis Ababa, drone ban enacted
During the nighttime hours in Addis Ababa, two mysterious explosions were reported. One targeted an area near "4 Kilometers" in the city center, and the other occurred around the Ethiopian National Defense Forces headquarters, amid escalating military tensions across the country. These events prompted authorities to impose strict restrictions on drone activity, with the Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service announcing a ban on all types of unmanned aerial vehicles in the capital and surrounding regions, along with legal measures against violators. These steps follow reports of drone attacks targeting military facilities and the Hara Mida Air Base. Meanwhile, fighting in northern Ethiopia continues to intensify between government forces and the Tigray People's Liberation Front. Reports indicate that Tigray forces have taken control of Mekelle Airport, leading to the suspension of many flights. The ongoing clashes and conflicting reports about the ground situation are accompanied by international calls for de-escalation and the protection of civilians.
