Egypt speeds to finish 500km Eilat railway
Egypt is working on completing a 500-kilometer railway corridor connecting the Port of Arish to Taba, raising Israeli concerns about losing control over the southern borders and a decline in its logistical significance. Meanwhile, the dream of establishing a railway linking Israel to the southern regions remains far from realization, fueling Israeli fears that Taba could become a direct commercial competitor.
