Bosnia Elections and EU Accession
The article discusses the current Bosnia elections and their potential impact on its path toward European Union accession. The elections include the selection of the three-member Presidency and the national Parliament. They are taking place amid voter frustration due to economic slowdown, ongoing political crisis, and delays in EU accession negotiations, as all key requirements—such as fighting corruption and strengthening judicial oversight—have not yet been met. The initial results are expected to be announced after polling stations close. These elections are significant in shaping Bosnia’s future in its pursuit of EU membership, especially considering its designation as a candidate country in 2022 and the start of negotiations in 2024.
