Houthis block key road to Taiz
The Houthi rebels, supported by Iran, cut off a key supply route connecting Taiz in southwestern Yemen to Aden, where the internationally recognized government is based. This led to a siege on the city a few days after fighting erupted. They achieved this by taking control of the areas of Al-Safia and Al-Samsara Road, with intense battles taking place along this line. Sources confirmed that the Houthis seized control of the police station in Al-Safia and halted movement along the main route linking Taiz to Aden and Lahj.
