ISIS returns, kills officer near Kirkuk
An Iraqi police officer was killed and four others were injured on Monday in an attack by the Islamic State on a Federal Police position southwest of Kirkuk. The attackers used semi-automatic rifles and snipers. It is believed that ISIS militants are behind the attack, which is the first since the complete withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq on September 30, indicating ongoing activity by the group in the area.
