Al-Khazen urges government to act to avoid social unrest
Former Minister Wadie Khazen called on the government to make immediate and decisive decisions to alleviate the burdens on the Lebanese people, following Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri’s warning that social and economic tensions have reached the point of explosion. Khazen emphasized that the cabinet’s warning should serve as a wake-up call, and that citizens can no longer endure additional taxes and rising living costs, while delays persist in addressing banking deposits. He urged the government not to stop at diagnosis and warnings but to take direct action to protect the people, holding the sluggishness responsible for a significant national breach as the risk of social explosion increases.
