Chile heavy rains flood Mapocho River
Heavy rain in central Chile caused the Mapocho River to flood, resulting in the inundation of residential areas and the evacuation of residents from high-risk zones in the town of Talagante, located in the Santiago region. The waters overflowed the riverbanks, flooding streets and nearby buildings, especially since the area is situated directly along the river, which increased the severity of the flood. Local authorities evacuated residents, and rescue teams continued assessing the damage and providing assistance after widespread flooding occurred due to rising water levels from the heavy rains.
