US intercepts 90 fuel shipments to Cuba
The U.S. authorities announced the interception of 90 fuel shipments destined for Cuba, with an estimated value of around three million dollars, as part of the oil blockade imposed on the communist island. Most of the shipments were spotted at the Port Everglades in Florida, with the rest in Houston. Documents revealed that the shipments were to be delivered to the Cuban government through entities subjected to U.S. sanctions. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated that these shipments were to be sent illegally. Meanwhile, the Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister considered the American threat to be unlawful, amidst worsening relations between the two countries since Trump's return to power in 2025 and the implementation of an oil embargo on Cuba.
